Online Activity

It has come to our attention that many students are play an online game called Five Nights at Freddy's.

This is an intense horror game with animatronic characters.  This psychological and emotionally disturbing game is recommended for teenagers and adults.

A reminder to continue to monitor your child's online activity.

Library News

The theme for Book Week 2019 is;

Reading is My Secret Power!

I am really looking forward to working with the students to explore how reading empowers each of us and how we can express ourselves creatively through books. We will be exploring a range of CBCA (The Children’s Book Council of Australia) shortlisted texts during Library lessons and will complete visual arts and literacy responses to the texts.

Book character parade will take place on Wednesday 21st August at the start of the school day. The parade is about having fun and celebrating book characters, so the focus will be on keeping costume ideas simple and manageable for families. I will discuss ideas for characters with the children but there are some great ideas for costumes here too

On Monday 2nd September at 9.10am we have Perform Education visiting. They will perform an educational musical for the whole school, based around the 2019 CBCA shortlisted books. This should be fabulous!

Premier’s Reading Challenge – for those students who have been participating in the challenge, please return the reading checklist as soon as possible to Miss Clare so that we can register the books read by individual students.

It is most certainly an exciting term for celebrating literacy, literature, information literacy and other curriculum outcomes through books!
