Care and Concern

Student Attendance
A few friendly reminders as we start the year.
If your son/daughter is absent from school please remember to phone Student Services on 8368 3311 (option 1) on the day and for any subsequent days that he/she may need to remain at home. You may also email admin@endeavour.sa.edu.au.
If your son/daughter is feeling unwell during the day, please remind him/her to go to Student Services and speak to the staff who will make contact with you if necessary. Students should not be contacting parents directly.
If leaving school early for any reason, students should be picked up from Student Services, not the General Reception. For safety reasons, we cannot permit parents or other unaccompanied adults to walk through the Mall.
Are you planning a family holiday that will take place during term time? If so, please ask your son/daughter to collect an Extended Leave Form from Student Services, or alternatively you may request a form via email admin@endeavour.sa.edu.au. We would appreciate you submitting the form as early as possible.
From time to time Student Service staff are asked to get a message to one of the students. As it can be very difficult to get messages to students during the school day, we would prefer that such requests are made only if the situation is extremely urgent. Students can be contacted on their mobiles during recess and lunch breaks.
We greatly appreciate your support in these administrative matters.

Uniform
The start of the year has seen the majority of students ‘doing the right thing’ when it comes to the way that they wear their uniform. However, we feel it is really important that we ‘get it right’ at the start of the year in preparation for the rest of the year. Care Group teachers and Year Level Leaders have been working with and reminding students of our expectations, including some of the more common issues amongst our students:
- Jewellery (extra earrings or wearing earrings / piercings in incorrect places and rings)
- Dresses which are too short (must be below the knee in length)
- Hair not tied back and boys not being clean shaven
- Not wearing black leather lace up shoes – eg, black canvas shoes are not appropriate
- Not wearing predominantly white running or cross training shoes for PE shoes – eg, solid black shoes with a white tick symbol is not appropriate.
Initially students will be spoken to individually and blue slips may be issued. Phone calls will be made home if the choices continue and we will be seeking your support in changing the issue. It is really important that we work together as a community, that our students show pride in the way they wear their uniform and that they accept their choices and therefore consequences. If students continue to ‘do the wrong thing’, they may be removed from the general student body to work and /or sent home to rectify the concern. We look forward to your continued support of the College expectations.
