In Week 5 on Wednesday 9th November the Police Youth Officer will be visiting the school to talk to Stage 3 students about the safe and responsible use of technology including social media sites. Parents are advised to carefully monitor their child’s engagement on any social media sites.
As we have many students walking home this term it is important that students obey road safety rules and don’t use the school/parish site to play games or meet up with friends. The surrounding roads of the school are very busy and students need to take care when walking along or crossing these roads. A reminder to inform the school office if there are any changes to afternoon dismissal procedures.
Tomorrow, Friday 4th November the school staff will be engaging in a Staff Development Spirituality Day offsite. All teachers working in Sydney Catholic Schools are required to engage in Faith Formation Professional Learning. The Professional Learning day will focus on the Gospel of Mark - COME AWAY AND REST A WHILE (Mark 6:31) and involve time for reflection about the importance of communities, creation and relationship.
Commencing in Term 1, 2023 Year 3 students are invited to take part in the program. Please note that the designated device is a Chromebook and not any other device. Other devices (not a Chromebook) do not support all of the educational websites we use. Chromebooks assist us to move to more of a cloud-based computing platform and provide a 21st-century learning environment. This promotes creative thinking, collaboration and communication among students while giving them access to whatever it is they need. If you would like to read more about why Chromebooks are our designated device please click on the article; Chromebooks vs. Laptops which is the best for students?
Current Year 2 parents are asked to refer to the BYOD information letter that was shared earlier this term. Please contact the office if you require a copy of this letter.
