Dear Parents,
This week Year 4 and some of our primary classes joined the parish to celebrate ‘All Saints’ Day’ which is held every year on 1st November. All Saints’ Day is a holy day in the Catholic Church as it is a day when we celebrate the saints of the church as well as those saints who have not yet been recognised.
‘All Souls Day’ follows this day on 2nd November each year. This is a time when we remember the souls of the faithfully departed, especially our loved ones who we pray are granted eternal rest. We pray for everyone in our OLF community who has experienced loss in their lives.
The Amadeus Music Education Program will begin at Our Lady of Fatima in 2023. Amadeus provides students with a high-quality music education program offering students expert classroom music lessons, ensemble lessons, and group tuition.
This week, students in Year 2-5 listened to different music samples and watched demonstrations of each instrument before selecting their preferred instrument from each category. A copy of the form the students completed was sent home for parents to view and add any additional information about their child’s musical ability.
We look forward to organising this exciting opportunity for our students. Please find attached the parent information booklet which will also be sent out via Compass for your reference.
If you have any questions please contact the office.
We pray for our Year 2 students that are currently preparing for their First Reconciliation with our Parish. These students will receive this Sacrament next week on either Wednesday 9th November or Thursday 10th November. Remember that our God is a loving and forgiving God. It is a special time in the lives of these families as the students’ receive this Sacrament and build on their faith development.
Please note the change of date for our final Parent Rep meeting which will be held on Friday 18th November at 2:15pm in the library. At this meeting we can reflect on the year and look forward to what next year may hold. It has been a productive year in terms of building community in lots of ways and I thank all the parents who have contributed to our fundraising events with enthusiasm.
Finally, thank you for your understanding and support of our planned pupil-free Staff Development Day tomorrow. The staff are looking forward to connecting with their own personal spirituality and relationship with God in a reflective way that enhances their own faith formation. If you are unable to find supervision for your children there will be supervision at school for the day.
God Bless,
Mrs Suzanne Clay | Principal
