Save the Date

The countdown is on to our Art Show and Twilight Market on Thursday 3rd November. The fun starts at 5 pm until 8 pm. Highlights include the fabulous art your students have been creating throughout the year, student action team stalls, fabulous stalls and delicious food trucks.   We ask for you to save up your coins to help with change at the action team stalls as we will not be able to handle large notes. 

 

Here is a sneak peak of some junior art that has just been finished and displayed ready for you to see.

 

Scavenger Hunt

On the night there will be a Scavenger Hunt for the Seniors and Juniors.

 Entry forms and boxes will be found in the spaces and the first correctly drawn entry will win an art pack valued at $100 (this will be drawn on Friday, following the art show).  These art packs contain some fantastic items to create lots of fabulous art. Below are just some of the items that are in the junior art pack. 

 

Seniors, all you have to do is find the glitter letters and work out the quote.

Juniors, you  just count all the golden paint brushes. (examples of the golden brushes and letters are in the photos).

Guess Who Competition

Even the teachers have created some art. Come and see it in the Learning Space 3 art area during the Art Show,work out which teacher is which and enter the draw to win a drawing pack.  Here is a sneak peak of what the teachers have created.  Can you guess who it might be?

 

Become the face of the famous artwork.

We have some paintings of famous artists or artwork with the faces cut out for you to take a photo of your friends and families as the artwork.  They are: Frida Kahlo, Mona Lisa, Rene Magritte, Vincent VanGogh and Ned Kelly.  Come and find these in Learning Space 1.

REGIONAL ATHLETICS

We are so proud of both Cory and Andi who represented us and our District at Regional Athletics on Wednesday. Well done to both of them for making it that far!!

We now congratulate Andi for being first in both 1500m and 800m. Well done Andi. She will now go on to represent us and the District at State Level later this term.

FRIDAY SPORTS - SENIOR SPORTS HOUSE LADDERS

Seniors have been competing in House Sports matches on Fridays. Last week they competed in kickball. Below are the ladders and points for the teams in the Gr 5/6 matches and Gr 3/4 matches.

We will let you know the results next week after Friday sports when Grade 5/6 will play their first round of European Handball and Grade 3/4 will complete their finals in kickball.

 

SENIOR SWIMMING LESSONS

A reminder to parents that Senior Swimming begins in Week 6. I will be meeting with staff at Casey Race next week to finalise numbers. Please ensure you give permission on Operoo as soon as possible. Swimming is an important part of the PE Curriculum and all students are expected to attend. Only students with medical certificates will be exempt

 

GRADE 5 BIKE EDUCATION

A reminder to parents that information and the permission slip is now available on Operoo. Could you please give permission via Operoo for your child to participate? There is also a bike and helmet safety check that needs to be printed off and completed in reference to your child’s bike and helmet. Once completed please return to your child’s Homegroup teacher, no later than Friday October 21st.

WATER SAFETY LESSONS

A reminder to Junior parents that information and the permission form for Junior Water Safety Lessons is now available on Operoo. Please give permission for your child to attend and indicate if you are able to assist. You will need a Working with Children Check which is registered with the Office in order to assist. I will be meeting with the staff at Casey Race next week to finalise numbers. Water Safety is an important part of the PE Curriculum and all students are expected to attend. Only students with medical certificates will be exempt.

 

Congratulations SFS!! A fantastic effort bringing in bread bags last term! We were able to order 13 brand new hockey sticks. A big thank you to everyone! Well done!
