Our Queen by F-1
Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, the F-1 class together with teacher Mrs Freeman took time out to reflect on her life and how much they will miss her.
"Queen Elizabeth was the BEST Queen. We will miss her very much." - Ella S
"Sadly the Queen died. She was pretty nice and very clever." - Hadley
"I wish the Queen never died. I love her."
- Harry D
"On the 8th September the Queen sadly died. We respected her. We miss her and we loved her. She was everything to Australia and the whole world. Now we have King Charles III. We don't know him as well as the Queen." - Zoe
"I miss the Queen. She was a lady. She was old and wise." - Robbie
"The Queen died, she was beautiful." - Aurora
"The Queen of England has been Queen for many years. She has been the Queen for seventy years and has sat on the throne. Sadly she died so now Prince Charles will be the new king. When King Charles dies, Prince William will be the new King. It is very sad that the Queen has passed away. Now the Queen is in Heaven with her husband and Jesus. We will all miss the Queen of England." - Ella I
"Queen Elizabeth was very kind but she died. Her son Charles is the new King. He is King Charles III." - Xion
"Queen Elizabeth died so now we have King Charles III." - Harrison
"On Wednesday the Queen died. She isn't in the Cemetery yet but eventually she will be buried in the Cemetery." - Will
"I love the Queen." - Winnie
Year 2/3 History
The Year 2/3s have been studying local history this term. This week we went for a walk to read the plaques on some of the significant sites in the main street. We learnt that the big log in the park is on a cart called a ‘jinker’ and that it would have taken a lot of horses to pull a log to the sawmill. The students were surprised that the wheels were not made out of steel.
