Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to the final term for the 2022 school year. It is wonderful we are back into a regular school year and able to do all of the Term 4 activities including swimming, camp, beach days, Christmas activities and many other engaging activities.

We continue to have a high focus on our Literacy and Numeracy and ensuring every student reaches their full potential and the highest academic standard possible.

We will also have a high priority on behaviour with a focus on respect. Respect is at the base of all that occurs- respect for self, respect for others and respect for the environment. We have the highest of expectations for our students and ask them to be respectful, encouraging and inspiring.

RESPECTFUL- Love one another as I have loved you (John 13:34)

ENCOURAGING- Encourage one another and build one another up ( Thessalonians 5:11)

INSPIRING- Let your light shine before others so they may see your great work (Matthew 5:16 )

We do not tolerate any of the following behaviours- physical, swearing, put downs or disrespect. Students are taken out of the learning community for any of these behaviours and spend time with a staff member reflecting on how they can grow and change. Consequences are put in place and further support if required.

Please see our Positive Behaviour, child safety and wellbeing policies. Please do not hesitate to make an appointment if you would like to discuss any aspect of your child’s wellbeing or behaviour.

We have a referral system in place - if you successfully refer any family to St Joseph’s across any year level both yourself and the new family receive a discount of $250 off your 2023 fees.

Finally I would like to thank my leadership team in particular my Deputy Principals Sue Jackson and Peter Whyte for their excellent leadership whilst I was away on long service leave. I have had a wonderful break traveling up the east coast and am ready to return to St Joseph’s and lead our school community to great heights. We have a wonderful school and I am so proud to be the Principal of such a special place of learning.

Yours in Partnership,

Gab
