World Teachers' Day is an opportunity to celebrate and thank our teachers for their important role in our communities and for the positive impact they have on the lives of students. Today we took the time to celebrate our teachers with a lovely assembly - stay tuned for the video and some very cute kids dancing and dodgy teacher dancing.  Our teachers also enjoyed morning tea and a had a day off playground duty and some awesome thankyous from our children. Thank you to MLA Robyn Lambley for the cake.

Swimming Carnival was a success last Friday and Larapinta did manage to keep their winning streak, congratulations Larapinta! This means the free dress day this term will be a blue day and we will all be wearing blue. Start training now Albrecht and Flynn for 2023.

On Monday we welcome our new Foundation friends and their families who are joining us in 2023. They will be in the carpark and walking around school so please make them feel welcome. If you have any friends who are yet to enrol for 2023, please tell them to contact us ASAP as we are finalising classes and staffing for 2023. Similarly, we remind families that they need to provide a full term's notice of departure to avoid being billed for that notice period.

Just like our students, our teachers are lifelong learners and I thank the 20 educators and our board chair Liz who gave up their Friday night to meet over dinner and hear Lisa Burman speak. Lisa Burman’s approach is a research based, child-centred approach to education with a focus on child agency. She advocates deinstitutionalising school, something that is close to our hearts at Living Waters, putting the child at the centre of all we do. This professional development was so important to continuing a common vision.
