RUNNING CLUB

Firstly, thank you to the 14 runners that came to our 3rd week of the Tuesday Morning Running Club.  We are steadily building with only 2 runners in week 1 and11 runners in week 2.  Unfortunately there will be NO running club for next two weeks due to Aladdin and the Melbourne Cup.

ATHLETICS

On Monday, we finally got to go to the twice rescheduled Kingston Division Athletics Carnival.  It was held at Duncan McKinnon Reserve and involves over 40 local primary schools.  I would be proud to say St Louis definitely had the largest (and loudest) contingent there.  In the last event of the day, they roared from the stands (pictured above) as Katya ran down the straight to win her 800 m event by 30 plus metres!

We had  7 athletes finish in the top 2 of their event to qualify for the next level, the South Metro Region Athletics Carnival.  Congratulations to the following:

  • Teagan  11 yr old.  800 and 1500m
  • Steve  12 yr old.  80m Hurdles
  • Katya  12 yr old.  800m
  • Lucy  9/10 yr old.  High Jump
  • Milo  11 yr old.  Long Jump
  • April  11 yr old.  Triple Jump
  • Thomas  11 yr old.  Shot Put

Due to the 2 rescheduling's, our qualifying athletes had only 2 days to recover before competing in the region event.  The region covers over 300 schools from all over south east Melbourne.   Each event had 16 entrants.  Teagan ran 8th and 9th, Steve hurdled to 5th, Katya ran 3rd, Lucy jumped 4th, April jumped 9th, Thomas threw for 3rd and Milo came FIRST!  It was super effort from all of them.

We wish Milo all the best at the Victorian State Finals.

I would like to thank the parents for their support for the Division event.  We love the atmosphere you bring to our team.  And I would especially like to thank the parents for their support, networking and organising to ensure all of the athletes were able to compete at the Region event.

Milo and his gold medal!

HATS

We have over 570 students.  This week, we only had 6 students who didn't bring their hat to school can I please remind all students to bring their hats.
