At GEPS, we have a unique spelling program called Word Work.  Word Work is the study of words and helps to strengthen reading and writing.  Students are involved in word work each day.

Students are grouped according to their needs and ability and every week students sit with the teacher and look at and examine a new spelling sort.

Word Work helps us: 

Identify spelling patterns/explore new vocabulary

Compare words and spelling patterns

Practice the spelling of new words.
