Staughton College Student Matrix: Class Routines

I would like to congratulate our students on a great start to 2020. Both teachers and students have become more consistent in the Staughton Student Matrix behaviours that help them learn cooperatively together.

I have seen students:

  • Using goal sheets to explicitly think about what they know at the start of the class, set goals and reflect on what they have learnt at the end of class.
  • Explicitly focus on effort at the beginning of the class and reflect on their effort at the end.
  • Use High Impact Strategies such as summarising or drawing a diagram on the student side of their interactive notebooks.
  • Respectfully collaborate with other students in class and in extracurricular activities.

I am particularly impressed with the way our new students at year 7, and across the school, have quickly picked up our matrix behaviours.

School Council Elections

I would like to congratulate Michael Currie and Karen Green on becoming parent members of our school council for the next two years.

Child Safety

Our school focus on learning, effort and respect lived through our motto of try persevere achieve are underpinned by an understanding that Child Safety is a paramount responsibility of the school community. Staughton College has a number of guiding policies regarding Child Safety on our web site located at http://www.staughtoncollege.vic.edu.au/administration/.

Please take some time to make yourself aware of these and contact the school should you have any concerns regarding Child Safety.
