World Fair and Open Day

2017 World Fair and Open Day

What an amazing day our 2017 World Fair and Open Day turned out to be.

More than 14 countries were represented through food and cultural stalls. Kilvington families with connections to Canada, China, France, Greece, Haiti, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, UAE, Brazil, Switzerland, Denmark and Vietnam presented delicious national dishes and significant cultural highlights.

Attendees were treated to worlds of vibrant colour, music, fragrance, design and activities. School Tours took visitors through displays and activities hosted by our English, Humanities, Science, PE & Health, Visual Arts, Robotics and Technology Faculties. There were also rides, a Kilvington Performing Arts program, and fundraising stalls led by our Houses, parents, students and staff.

Our School Tours had the highest number of registrations and attendees at a community event since 2012, illustrating the high interest of many families in Kilvington as an education provider.

The PFA successfully raised $34,700. More than 65% higher than our 2015 event. All proceeds will go to our new Sports Centre which we will commence building in July.

Thank you to our generous and hardworking PFA, in particular, President, Kirsten Brooks, who worked so hard to organise such a memorable and impressive event. Thank you to our amazing community who gave so much of their heart and soul to ensure that it truly was a multi-cultural celebration for everyone to enjoy. To the businesses who provided goods and services to assist in an outstanding fundraising effort, take a bow!

Ethics and Leadership Fundraiser

As part of the Indonesia stall at the Kilvington World Fair, we sold hand-made crafts by the company Blooming in Bali. We managed to sell many tickets throughout the day, and raised over $250 for our Year 10 raffle.

Congratulations to the winners – Mitchell Cole and family. We hope you enjoy your hamper!
