Matts Place Food Drive
Last week, Shreya and I went to Bayside Community Care to drop off our collection of food from the Matts Place food drive.
When we arrived, we saw a lot of empty shelves. There wasn’t enough food to fulfil the demand for the homeless who relied on the 2-course lunch provided by Matts Place. We started stocking the shelves with food and drinks. The amount of food donated by Kilvington was amazing. By the time that we had finished, the shelves were bursting with food and the cupboards were filled to the brim.
The feeling of being part of a Kilvington community that cares so much for our greater society left Shreya and I speechless. We felt wonderful as we knew we were doing a great deed for a wonderful cause.
We would like to thank everyone who donated food to the drive. The food was much appreciated. In particular, we would like to recognise Years 4V and 6H who donated massive amounts of food. All your work has made a difference.
