Great Start to EISM Title Campaign

We played off in three EISM Summer Senior Grand Finals. We won softball and boys’ tennis and were runner ups in girls’ soccer. The teams will move on to represent the EISM against GSV, APS and AGS champions. We are aiming for 9+ trophies this year (beating last year’s record) and are well on the way!

Tennis Grand Finalists

Congratulations to the Senior Boys tennis team (Athan Vlachos, Johnny Barkoczy, David Kuang, Tim Bayley, Brandt Kakulas, Tieren Hem, James Teague, Miles Bayley,  Ryuto Yamawaki and Josh Tung) for winning the Grand Final against Kingswood!

It has truly been a fantastic season for our team with the boys winning every match throughout the term. This success was largely due to the boys’ absolute commitment and enthusiasm for the sport. It has been a real pleasure to coach and watch the boys develop as a team.

Central Girls Senior Soccer Runners-Up

What a fantastic season we’ve had! Undefeated throughout the term and in a playoff against the other undefeated team - Bialik - in the final. Both teams played off in the regular season with a tense 2-2 draw.

The Grand Final was a classic encounter. With the star midfielder, Ellis Morri  injured, it was up to the team to fill the void - which they did! Teams took their turns of having the momentum in this seesawing struggle. Kilvington took a 1-0 lead into half time, and it looked like they were home and hosed until Bialik equalised in the second half then kicked the winner with few minutes remaining.

MVP for the season was Sara Ewenson. Well done to other star players, Simran Singh, Hannah McCorquodale, Holly Haslauer, Gabby Farfor, Jasmine Fassoulis, Chichi Zhang, Leanne Chua, Shreta Bala-Aiyer, Hayley Brown, Jacquie Ooi, Jess Conser, Zoe Parsons, Charlie Ewenson.

Balaclava Summer Round Robin

All Year 5 and 6 students represented Kilvington in the annual Balaclava Summer Round Robin day. Students competed in a range of sports against all other Balaclava District Schools. Sports included Basketball Girls, Basketball Boys, Volleystars, Cricket Girls, Cricket Boys and Hockey.

To prepare for this event, students worked very hard with numerous training sessions during and after school. We appreciated how students gave their all – dedicating time and effort to develop vital skills and strategy and learn about their sport. This hard work definitely translated into match day with an outstanding performance against larger primary schools across all sports.

  • Girls Basketball 2nd (runners up) out of 12 teams
  • Boys Cricket 5th out of 11 teams

Well done to all!
