Focus on....Myotherapy

Myotherapy
Students often enquire about what Myotherapy is, where one can study for it and the possible pre-requisite studies.
A Myotherapist usually assesses and treats patients with postural problems, with the aim of restoring the body to its ideal state. This generally involves the manual realignment of muscles, joints, ligaments, and tissues which have become damaged or misaligned. Often Myotherapists plan, apply and assess massage treatment in the health care and soft tissue treatment industries. Myotherapy is offered at several institutions including Australian College of Sports Therapy, Box Hill Institute, Chisholm Institute, Holmesglen Institute, RMIT, and Southern School of Natural Therapies, to name a few. For most institutions, there are no pre-requisite VCE studies. Visit Australian Natural Therapists Association to find out more, or enter Myotherapy' in to the VTAC course search archive http://www.vtac.edu.au/
