Athletics Sports Day Review

by Mr Hill

On Wednesday Bayswater SC held their Athletics Carnival in what can only described as beautiful early spring weather organized specifically by Mr. Hill. J (I’m taking credit for the weather this year). Looking great in their year level colors, the students eagerly jumped on the buses all set for the day ahead. Greeted by Ms Vincent upon entry the students were straight into the team pursuit, which was taken out by the Seniors this year. The 100m sprints were up next before they commenced their field rotations. Students rotated through Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, Triple Jump and Javelin. High Jump, which is a great but long event, was run at the college within the previous Physical Education class.

Lunchtime saw a few tired students rest their weary legs and enjoy a well-earned drink while others decided to try their hand or should I say foot as ‘Superboot’ with Gareth Hodgkiss and Sophie Holloway proving to be this years champs. The students completed their final rotations and before we knew it, it was 2pm and the day was done. It was really hard to isolate particular students as everyone was giving it a go however every time I seemed to look at the track I could see Aleah Murrell and Sam Young tearing around the track in their respective races. Well-done guys!

Congratulations to all students for their amazing efforts throughout the day and a big thank you to all the teachers for all the hard work they put in to make the day such a success. Hold tight till Monday’s assembly when we announce both the winning year level and individual awards!
