Year 10 Students Transition to Senior Options

On Thursday August 20, Year 10 students and parents attended an information evening in the ILC to discover the options that are available to the young people next year.  The evening covered the options of Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL), the studies these can include and the options of Vocational Education Training (VET) and School Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT).  Parents and students also explored the factors to consider when choosing the pathway and the need to review the pathway regularly in the future.  Discussion occurred about the future that the young people may face and the impact of technology, change and chance on their future and employment opportunities.  Parents and students could then book individual appointments to discuss their possible options.
