Humanities

It has been a busy term for Humanities, with students participating in different opportunities to better engage with their learning.

At the end of Term 2, 100 Year 7 students had the exciting opportunity to explore Chinatown and visit the Chinese Museum. They engaged with primary artefacts as they were taken on a guided tour of the different levels of the museum and further developed their understanding of Ancient China and the lives of its citizens. Students also explored Chinatown and its history with their teachers, ending the day by sampling delicious Asian cuisine for lunch.

Year 10 Hands on Humanities students ventured out into the Melbourne CBD as part of their Geography unit of study. They had a busy day as they explored different destinations that draw people into the city and the different means of transport people use daily. They also collected research from both tourists and locals, which they used in class. Year 10 Doing the Books, Avoiding the Crooks students also went on excursion. They participated in the exciting TalkLaw program, where they gained practical information about the law, with a focus on helping them to understand and protect their legal rights, as well as to avoid legal problems in the future.
