Multipride
It’s been another exciting term for MultiPride.
Students are continuing to join our Monday lunchtime meetings in the conference room. After attending 3 sessions they receive a maroon jumper and MultiPride badge that they can wear to let other students know that they represent MultiPride.
Congratulations to our 4Cs Pasifika students who participated in the festival at Bunjil Place on the 20th August. Led by the extremely capable Albelyn White the students rehearsed and organised their performance which comprised of dancing and live music. 4Cs is a hotly contested coming together of Pasifika students from secondary schools in the area: Hampton Park, Carrum Downs, Narre Warren, Fountain Gate and Officer to name a few.
It was great to catch up with ex-teacher Broady Kata who is now a Leading Teacher at Officer SC and organises 4Cs as part of the VCAL program with Laitini Mamautia, who created 4Cs. It’s an example of the wonderful work being done by the Pasifika community in the Casey area.
MultiPride also organised the now annual Asian Lunchtime Festival which included such hits as Henna Hands at lunch, Bollywood dance class and K Pop videos in the Theatre Foyer. The now titled Brian Yong Cup teacher versus student badminton cup was finally won by the students now that Mr Yong has left Cranbourne, although they would have probably would have preferred to have him back. It was a bittersweet win.
Lunch was also made for students at lunchtime but was gone in about 5 minutes. It just shows how delicious it was!
Looking forward to planning for 2020!
