SRC
The SRC have had a very busy term working on some excellent initiatives. Students have taken great ownership of our lunchtime Toastie Club by working as a team to ensure that toasties are made in advance and ensuring there is always ample supply. Many students from across the college have volunteered to give up their lunchtime to help this great student led initiative.
The SRC successfully ran a whole school assembly which involved showcasing the many talented students from our Performing Arts Department. The college acknowledged students by presenting Above & Beyond awards to students who have represented the school in a positive light. Our high achievers were acknowledged for their consistently high results across subjects and we heard from our School Captains as they addressed the whole school for the first time this year.
Recently, the SRC raised over $1200 for Royal Childrens Hospital and Monash Childrens Hospital as a result of a successful Free Dress Day. They maximised takings by putting on a bake sale, a bbq and live band performances. The group worked cohesively to ensure the success of the day and we noticed many little Minions amongst our students!
The SRC are now working on planning for the future with the introduction of new student leadership roles such an Environmental Captain and Social Justice Captain positions. Keep an eye on Compass for further information regarding this positions.
