Friendship, fun, challenge and achievement!
Girl Guides is a volunteer-run not-for-profit youth organisation that aims to empower girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members. We do this through our unique non-formal education programs – fun, games, experiences, under the care of trained volunteer Guide Leaders.
Yarra City District Girl Guides meet weekly during school terms:
- Junior Guides ages 7-10 (Mark St. Hall North Fitzroy, Wednesday 6.30-8PM)
- Girl Guides ages 10-14 (Edinburgh Gardens Community Rooms North Fitzroy, Tuesday 7-9PM)
- Senior Guides ages 14-17 (Edinburgh Gardens Community Rooms North Fitzroy, alternate Mondays 7-9PM).
Our units are open to girls and their parents to visit– come and see how you like it. Adult volunteer enquries are also welcome.

COLLINGWOOD TOY LIBRARY
The Collingwood toy library is a community-owned resource for families in the City of Yarra and surrounding areas, operated on a non-profit basis and managed by a committee of volunteer members who are elected annually.
We are getting in touch with local schools in the area to promote our activities and resources for school-age children.
We have recently added a large collection of board games for school-aged children and more games in foreign languages including Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Spanish and Vietnamese. We also have a board games club and holiday activities, as well as other family-friendly community events throughout the year.

ENROLMENTS FOR 2018 NOW OPEN
Most children LOVE drawing! They have an innate need to process their view of the world and to create along the way.
At a certain level of their expressive exploration (around age 8), they often start to feel the need for things to look “right” in their drawing.
FROM LINE TO COLOUR drawing classes will introduce your child to observational drawing techniques such as perspective and shading, enabling them to take their creations to the next level, looking ‘real and 3D’! Observational drawing engages the brain in a different way to most other learning. It is absorbing while relaxing and emotionally expressive. A great sense of achievement and empowerment accompanies the ability to get it ‘right’. Think your child would be interested? Consider joining us!
There are only a few spaces available, so do book your spot as soon as you decide.
