Science Talent Search

The Science Talent Search (STS) is an annual, science based competition open to all primary and secondary students in Victoria, Australia. Science Talent Search fits closely with the Victorian Curriculum philosophy of teaching and learning. There is a close match between many STS sections and the Victorian Curriculum Learning Areas, Strands and Substrands.

Theme and Topics

The STS theme for 2019 is 'Destination Moon: more missions, more science'

There are set topics for Creative Writing and Posters/Scientific Wallcharts sections only.

Public Judging Day was held on Saturday 3rd August 2019 with the Exhibition and Presentation Day to be held on Monday 28th October 2019 (date to be confirmed)

The college has been advised by the  Science Talent Search Committee that we have been selected as one of the winners of the 2019 Peter Craig School Awards.

The Peter Craig Award recognises the high quality of entries submitted over the breadth of sections in the competition. Congratulations to all students for their high calibre of projects submitted and to the Science faculty especially Mr Lee Stringer for working with and inspiring our students.  The award will be presented to a member of the Science Faculty in October.

Well done to our students and staff involved in the Science Talent Search
