Camp Experience Fun

Grade 3/4 Excursion

On Wednesday 16 November, all Grade 3/4 students jumped on a bus and headed to Healesville Sanctuary to consolidate their learning around animal features, the features that help them survive, their habitats and known threats to their species. Although it was wet and raining throughout the day, students were engaged in the learning with our guide who led us around the Sanctuary pointing out local trees and wildlife. Students saw a life bird show containing trained endangered birds that inhabit Victoria and discussed what we can do to help keep these species alive. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.

Grade 1/2 Excursion

Last Thursday we went to CERES. I loved smelling and tasting plants like Lemon Myrtle, Pigs Face, River Mint and Native Spinach. I also loved painting our bodies with ochre. Acting Tiddalick out was very fun. I was a possum and I learnt lots of Aborginal words and that the Tiddalick story has been passed down for 7000 years. My favourite word is Wominjeka which means welcome. By Sophie M

Last Thursday my class went on an excursion to CERES. We got to taste different leaves. The leaf that I loved was Pig's Face. We got to squeeze it and the water inside tasted good!  By Alana V

On our excursion, first we tasted leaves. They were disgusting! I didn't really like them. Next we painted our bodies. After we went to the playground. Finally we dressed up and acted out Tiddalick the Frog.  By Savannah C
