Girls mentoring camp

Girls Mentoring Camp to the Snowy Mountains

On Wednesday last week, we headed off to Cooma at 9 am. When we arrived at Cooma, we had lunch and continued to Jindabyne. We then walked around the lake for about a kilometre and went shopping. We went back to camp, completed some challenges, and then watched a movie.

The next day we woke up early to go to Mt Kosciuszko. Unfortunately, we only got about 100 metres up the mountain when the snow cut us off. Fortunately, we had a snowball-throwing session and made snowmen. We also went for a scenic walk through the hills to see the mountains from the lookout. We then went on a very challenging hike for 6 km along a muddy and steep trail. However, there were some lovely views of a stream and waterfall.

We then went to Thredbo Leisure Centre, had a lovely swim, and raced down the waterslide. We went back to the camp for the evening and played charades.

On the last day, we all went to the Snowy Hydro discovery centre and learnt about Snowy hydro and Snowy Hydro 2.0. Then we went karting in Canberra, which was fun, although it would have been better if Charlotte didn't ram me. Thank you, Charlotte!

We also got to hear Mr Keighley tell us about the Cooma and Kosciusko National Park area, which was interesting. Thank you to all teachers who helped make this trip possible. I know we didn't make it easy on you.
