Principal's Address
2023 Primary Leadership Team
It with great pleasure that I announce the Boorowa Central School Primary Leadership Team for 2023.
Captains: Emily Ford and Lilah Roffey
Vice Captains: Amelia Duffy and Zac Reid
Prefect: Blayde Trotter
I would like to congratulate the five young people who were successful in gaining positions in the leadership team and extend this congratulations to the three other excellent candidates who put themselves forward. All eight of these young people are excellent leaders and will continue to lead in 2023 even if they do not hold an official position.
I look forward to working with all of them in 2023.
Yearly reports
It is always a remarkably busy time of the year leading into the Christmas break. One of the most time consuming and enjoyable jobs that a principal completes is the final proofing of all student reports. I especially enjoy this process as it provides me with a deep insight into the learning successes of each and every one of the students at Boorowa Central School. When reading reports, I look for those students who show that they are ‘striving for individual excellence’ and recognise them with a letter from the principal. This year, I have chosen to mix things up and create a special certificate for these students.
If your child has demonstrated high levels of effort and application in all or most academic areas, they will receive this certificate of recognition from me in their report. Please celebrate this achievement with your child and reinforce that learning success is a direct result of a person’s attitude toward learning.
Reports will be sent home with all students in Week 10.
End of year BBQ
Thank you to the many families who joined us for the BBQ on Thursday afternoon. As always, the sausage sandwiches were delicious, zooper doopers ice cold and the cricket game fiercely competitive. I thoroughly enjoy this event at the start and end of each year as it allows staff, students, and parents to come together and celebrate the year that was and to begin to get excited about the year ahead.
Annual Presentation night
On Thursday 8 December, Boorowa Central School will be hosting our annual Presentation Night. The purpose of the evening is to recognise and celebrate the efforts and achievements of our students from the year of 2022.
Students receiving awards will be notified and expected to attend in full school uniform.
Please join us in the school Hall from 6.30pm for a 6.45pm start.
Reminder of end of term date and start of 2023 date
A reminder that the final day of schooling for students this year is Friday 16 December.
The first day of school in 2023 is as follows:
Tuesday 30 January - Years 1-6, 7, 11 and 12
Wednesday 31 January – Kindergarten, 8, 9 and 10 .
