Dear Parents,
What a monster last week of school. I actually can't believe we are at the end of another school year!
The Year 6 Farewell is one of the highlights on the school calendar, and last night our Year 6 children celebrated in style. Wow! Thankyou to the parents for their decorations and organistion of the venue, it looked amazing. Congratulations to our Year 6 children on the manner in which they represented our school and their families. You were outstanding last night. Congratulations.
Our children finished the Intensive Swimming Program on Tuesday. It has been terrific watching the improvement of all of our children in both skills and confidence in the water. Thank you to Mrs Mitchell for her coordination of this excellent program.
We have also had our last Infants and Primary Assemblies for the year. Congratulations to all of our assembly award winners this week.
On Wednesday we celebrated our final Green Award Morning Tea. These children had the most green awards in their class. They have demonstrated the values of being Respectful, Responsible, Safe, Learners in and out of the classroom. Congratulations to the following children;
Our Year 6 graduation assembly on Wednesday was another special event. In front of the whole school and many parents and friends, our Year 6 children were presented with their graduation certificates and their P&C Year 6 bear. Well done to our Year 6 children. What a special acknowledgement from the entire school of your time at Bathurst Public School.
Our children enjoyed their class parties today. This is a really special way to end the year. Well done, everyone. It was so great watching you have so much fun!

As this is the last Newsletter for the year, there are several thankyou's and goodbyes;
We have continued to be supported by our wonderfully active P&C. Our P&C have been busy fundraising and organising events such as the Mothers and Father’s Day stalls. The P&C have also been instrumental in working with the school to get many of our creative and performing arts opportunities operating again in 2023. Thankyou to our P&C for their support.
I would like to thank most sincerely Mrs Chaffey who has managed the Canteen in Term 2 and Term 3 and the many the volunteers who have also supported the school. Without the support of Mrs Chaffey and our wonderful volunteers, our canteen would not be open. We look forward to having our Canteen reopen every Friday in 2023 and welcoming back our precious volunteers.
I would like to acknowledge the work our leadership team has done this year. Our school captains and vice captains along with our house captains and vice captains have been great ambassadors for our school, and I thank them for their work as our school leaders of Bathurst Public School in 2022. A special thanks to our school captains and vice captains, who have equipped themselves extremely well at all official functions or welcoming of official guests to our school. They have been amazing, and I have been thrilled to work with such a capable group. Thank you Sophie, Jackson, Brooklyn and Max.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the children for another outstanding year. What a terrific group of children you are to work with. I feel extremely lucky to work amongst you all – you make coming to school each day a delight.
To the parents – thank you for your ongoing support of Bathurst Public School and Public Education. Our school is a great school and an outstanding example of our first class education system.
To the staff, I thank you for making our workplace such a positive and supportive environment. I am continually amazed at the work and commitment you all show every single day. Your organisation and pastoral care of each child is always paramount. Your enthusiasm and dedication to Bathurst Public School is appreciated, and I thank you for your support and friendship.
To Year 6, I wish you all the very best for the future. You all have the ability to do what ever you set your mind to. Reach for the stars and believe in yourself. Goodbye and good luck! I look forward to following your journey through high school.
To Miss Bennett, who has received a permanent teaching position at Milton Public School and Ms Flanagan who has obtained an Assistant Principal position at Eglinton Public School, I say thankyou and farewell. You have both been wonderful teachers and valued friends to us all in your time at our school. You will be greatly missed by the children and the staff of our school and we wish you all the very best in your new positions.
We also farewell Mrs Calder who will take 12 months leave and Ms Webster who will teach at Carenne SSP in 2023. We look forward to seeing these terrific teachers back in 2024.
Below is the overview of what children will require for each stage group in 2023. This will help parents prepare for the new school year.
Lastly, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year. Enjoy the holidays, travel safely and enjoy spending time with family and friends. See you in 2023!
