Big Day Out

Musical Performance

Our Lalor North Secondary College Band were invited to preform at the Official opening of the Childs Road Upgrade and new rest area at the Darebin Creek Lookout early this month. The Band performed at the ceremony and Family festival with Wurundjeri elder, Aunty Julienne and Wurundjeri man Daniel Ross who held the smoking ceremony. Lalor North Secondary College along with Aunty Julienne and Uncle Dave, Darebin Creek Management Committee came together with an educational activity that increased the our connection with place.  They walked along the creek and learned more about the flora and fauna and how it is part of and used by the Wurundjeri people.

Our local Member for Thomastown, MP Bronwyn Halfpenny along with our students planted a tree to commemorate the occasion.
