Getting to know you and world of LEGO !

End of week 2 already !!

What a busy and fun filled start to the term we  had at Before and After school care.

As we start 2023, we welcome some new faces to New Adventure, educators and preps!!

In week one we spent some time with all the children, getting to know them, their families and supporting them as they transition back into the school routines!!

Some of our wonderful families filled out a family tree and send in a family photo to assist us in getting to know your children!!

During the week we had some getting to know you activities including self portraits, Human Bingo, How tall am I ?, Would you rather and two truths and a lie. Working out how tall we are in comparison to some animals that we met at the zoo was so entertaining for the children.

Week two was a “World of LEGO” theme after seeing sooooo many children engaged with the LEGO over the whole of vacation care!!

We did a lot this week including LEGO Masks LEGO Stamping, LEGO Mazes (Marble & Car) and Mini LEGO Models

On Wednesday we had Science & Cooking LEGO Zipline Challenge & Timed LEGO Challenges and at ASC LEGO Rice Crispies

Thursday in Let’s Get Active we had LEGO Bridge Building and LEGO Shadows

Friday: Rest & Reflect

Finally on Friday we had LEGO Spinning Tops & Roll-a-LEGO Tower and a relaxing movie to finish the week.

A huge thank you to James Cheetham and his family who donated a wonderful Kloudsac for kids. This will be a wonderful addition to our chill out and sensory zone and we have already had several children enjoy its huge, comforting place to rest.

I would also like to thank Mrs Harford and her family for their wonderful donation of books for our senior room library and Mrs Bolton and family for the superhero dress up masks. We are so grateful when families donate to us.

I would like to finish with some hellos and a goodbye.

We have three new educators who have joined us since last December. Chloe, Natalie and Chiara.

Chloe and Chiara are both studying their Bachelor of Education at Monash and Natalie comes us us with a background of working in Early Childhood for several years.

Sadly we say goodbye to another of our amazing Educators as they move on towards their career as teachers. Amber has worked at New Adventure for almost two years and is our Educational Leader, she will be leaving us at the end of the month.  Amber is working towards a career in Early Childhood as a Kinder Teacher and will be working with preschool children in her new position. We wish her all the best in her future career !
