Christmas Liturgy

Today we came together for our final whole school Liturgy of 2023. Our 2023 Liturgy Captain, Jessie Chripczuk Morales spoke about the celebration of Advent. This year Advent will commence on Sunday 27 November. It's a time of new beginnings. It is a time when the impossible becomes possible. During this time, we are called to reflect upon those aspects of our life that need transformation. Today, we prepared ourselves for the birth of Jesus and the mystery of God coming to live amongst us in our world.

The Advent wreath is a symbol of eternity and unending love, and a sign of the Light of Christ coming into the world. It usually consists of four candles: three purple candles and one pink candle. Each Sunday during Advent, one candle is lit is signify an aspect of the Christmas story.

Five wreaths were placed on the stage with five candles placed above them to symbolise new life, victory over suffering, strength and healing, the eternity of God and life and resurrection.
