Assistant Principal's Report

Prep, One, Two Athletics Day

Today we had the Athletics Day for our Junior School students. It was so nice seeing the children compete, cheer each other on and collect ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Well done students, you showed determination, pride and success. A huge thank you to the parents that came to support the children and the House Captains who assisted with each event. Mr Spinks, you planned and executed a wonderful event, thank you so much!

Grade Six Graduation

Last night Mrs Vesdrevanis and I had the pleasure of hosting the Grade Six Graduation. The graduation this year was particularly special for both of us as we had both taught many of these students throughout our teaching career. Thank you to the Grade Six Teaching Team: Mrs Corfios, Mr Johnson and Mrs Milanese for organising such a fantastic night for our Grade Six students and their families. It was a memorable evening, thank you very much! A special mention to our School Captains of 2022 Isobel, Joshua, Weihan and Lexie. You have done a wonderful job representing and leading our school this year. You have shown exceptional leadership skills and grown in so many ways over the year. You have become strong public speakers and we are so proud of all that you have achieved in your role this year. Each fortnight you have provided us with a piece of writing for Captains Corner and I know the student body enjoy reading this section of the newsletter. We are excited to see you in your final captaincy role at the Christmas Carols next Thursday evening. You will be remembered as inspirational leaders of our school. Well done!

I would also like to acknowledge the winners of the four special awards presented last night. The winners of these awards have displayed great qualities throughout their schooling here at DPS and this year their teachers have been super impressed with everything that they have worked so hard to achieve. The Von Schramm Axios award was presented to Jaelyn Loh. The award for Academic Excellence in English was presented to Lexie Blanchard. The award for Academic Excellence in Numeracy was presented to Aaron Rajit and the Menzies Award was presented to Shantia Shirazi.

You are great class members, you look out for others, you have a keen attitude and you persist even when things get tough. All of these qualities make you worthy recipients of these awards. Congratulations to all of our award winners from last night.

A message from the Assistant Principal for the Graduating Class of 2022

To the wonderful Class of 2022,

Congratulations to each and every graduating student. This is such a special day for you and such a milestone in your schooling journey. You have completed Primary School at DPS and we could not be more proud of everything you’ve achieved, experienced and become over the years.

I would like to wish you well as you move into Secondary School. The memories you have made here are yours to take. From Athletics Days, Excursions, Sleepovers,

Incursions, Swimming, Interschool sports and visits to Westfield, you have done it all.

I remember teaching many of you in Grade Two and as the years have passed by, I’ve watched you grow into kind, enthusiastic, motivated learners who are resilient and would give anything a go. Take these lessons and this attitude with you into Secondary School, but also remember you will always have your DPS family here who value and care about you and want the very best for your future.

I hope to hear from you in years to come and celebrate your achievements, successes and the people you’ve become. And to think it all started here at Doncaster Primary School.

Behind you, all your memories.

Before you, all your dreams.

Around you, all who love you.

Within you, all you need.

Best wishes for the next phase of your life. Congratulations on a job well done.
