2021 Staff

Welcome to our new staff for 2021
In this edition of il giornale we would like to introduce you to School of Innovation Learning Mentor Olivia Sorbello, Receptionist and Community Engagement Officer Mardie Guppy, ICT Administrator Jamie Hatch and Learning Support Trainee Sean McAllister.
Olivia Sorbello
Hi everyone! My name is Olivia and I work in the Year 8 team at St Anne’s College. I have recently moved from Melbourne to live back in Kyabram, the place where I grew up. I completed my Bachelor of Secondary Education and Arts at Monash University in 2019. I spent my graduate year of teaching (when I wasn’t working remotely) at John Paul College in Frankston where I taught Italian and Humanities.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, trying different recipes and watching movies (especially Italian movies). I also enjoy travelling to Melbourne to visit friends and exploring new places and cultures (when borders allow). I love to watch my favourite bands play live and try different types of cuisine. One of my favourite places to visit is Firenze in Italia and I can’t wait for overseas travel to be safe and open again.
I am very excited to be a part of St Anne’s College this year. I have really enjoyed getting to know all of the community, and teaching in the lovely learning spaces. I have felt so welcome in my first term, and I am hoping I can continue to grow as a teacher at St Anne's. I know there are so many amazing mentors here! I was taught by four of them when I was a student at school!
Mardie Guppy
Hello! I’m Mardie! I have a couple of roles at St Anne’s College. Most of you may know me as the Bob Stewart uniform coordinator. I am one of the original members of the St Anne's College uniform committee which was formed in 2018.
After spending the last 30 years in the travel industry as a travel advisor and with the changing world around us, it was time for a new adventure. I was very excited to be appointed to the role of Receptionist and Community Engagement Officer for St Anne’s College this year.
I love to explore and travel, whether that be trekking through the Himalayas in Nepal, sipping margaritas in Mexico, having a gelato at the Trevi Fountain in Rome or four-wheel-driving throughout this great land of ours - Australia. Of course new adventures await which I hope to spend with my two daughters and husband.
I enjoy welcoming new and existing families to our community. Exciting times ahead!
Jamie Hatch
Hi everyone! My name is Jamie and I have joined the St Anne’s team as the ICT Administrator. I grew up in Kyabram and am the eldest of four children. I attended Haslem St Primary School and Kyabram High School.
For the past five or so years I have been at St Augustine’s College in Kyabram as the ICT Support Technician. Outside of St Anne’s I enjoy keeping fit and going fishing. I also love cars.
I’m super excited to have joined the journey at St Anne’s and can’t wait to see what’s to come.
Sean McAllister
Hi my name is Sean McAllister and I’m one of four Learning Support trainees at St Anne's College for 2021. I completed Year 12 last year at Notre Dame College where I did my VCE. Through my traineeship this year I will be completing a Certificate 3 in Education Support and I aspire to move onto university next year to study Physical Education teaching. I have grown up locally in Tatura, where I live with my parents, younger brother and my dog Max.
In my spare time I enjoy playing footy and cricket for Tatura with my mates. Along with playing sport I also enjoy spending time with family and friends, and finishing the days with taking the dog for a walk. As well as working at St Anne’s this year I undertake part-time work on an orchard outside of Tatura.
I am looking forward to seeing what 2021 brings and am already enjoying my time so far at St Anne’s.
