Year 1 Spotlight

It’s been a busy start to 2021 for Grade 1! Students have been busy re-connecting with their friends, getting to know their new teachers and exploring new learning spaces.

Students have worked hard to settle into the routines of school, including working independently and as part of a group in reading, writing and maths.

“It’s been fun making new friends and seeing all the other people in school and getting to know them better.” ~ Elsa M, 1B

“I like finding my buddy from Prep and playing cricket.” ~ Ziggy KF, 1B

“I like reading, I just really like it!” ~ Holly D, 1C

Drama Toolbox Incursion

A highlight has been our Drama Toolbox incursion sessions every Thursday. During these sessions, students journey along with Seal and her puppet friends, learning self-awareness, social awareness and social decision making skills to build resilience and perseverance. Students have loved entering the imaginary world of Wild Primary and of course using the CUTE puppets!

Personal Histories

In Inquiry, we are exploring our personal histories. Students have thought about where they come from, and what makes their family unique. Students took time to share a photo of their family, and other interesting artefacts that are important to their family.

Celebrating Cultures

We were also lucky to have Olivia come and share a Chinese New Year Celebration with all students in Grade 1.
