In the Library

Exploring Themes with Literature

This term in the Library I’ve organised themed displays with a selection of books supporting each display. Themes like Exploring Emotions and Climate Change & Recycling have engaged students and teachers and opened up discussion and exploration. The different themes have also encouraged students to explore and borrow books they may not have before.

Favourite Student Books

The student poll for favourite book was tallied up and the results are posted on the board outside the Library. It was interesting to see the top books and authors as voted by FPS – the students even used this Top 10 List to guide their book choices and try something new.

Top of the list is David Walliams (who brought us The World’s Worst Children, Parents and Teachers), closely followed by Raina Telgemeier with her award-winning graphic novels (Smile, Guts, Ghost, … ); Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Little People Big Dreams were all close in the run-up.

It’s wonderful to see the students’ enjoyment of reading and how much they love visiting the Library!
