PFA AGM – Wednesday 10th March

The first PFA (Parents and Friends Association) meeting for the year was held a few weeks ago and was well attended. The PFA AGM is scheduled for Wednesday 10th March and we will be looking to fill our office bearer roles. Throughout 2020 we continued to have an active PFA with connections still being made with our community and Covid safe activities still occurring. With us returning to a ‘new’ normal, we are hoping to fill all the office bearer positions this year including the appointment of a President. One of the strengths of our PFA is the team approach to activities and the sharing of responsibilities but like all most organisations, there do need to be formal roles to ensure success. Our President does not need to have prior experience as there are lovely mentors to support anyone.

Karen Phillips, our School Council Treasurer and PFA member has prepared a draft document outlining more details pertaining to our PFA which we have placed on our website. If you have any questions please call into the office or contact the PFA on pfa@carnegeips.vic.edu.au

2021 CURRICULUM DAYS - NO SCHOOL

Two of our allocated pupil free days were used at the commencement of the school year. The two other dates we have planned are Wednesday, 26th May and Friday, 10th September. These days are well into the future, so please place these into your diaries as there will be no school for children on these days.

BIKE SAFETY

Riding to school should be a fun activity; however at Carnegie Primary our main aim is to ensure that all students get to and from school safely. Students who ride their bikes need to be fully alert to the road rules for bike riders. If your child rides their bike to school, we encourage you to consider your child’s ability to keep themselves safe on the roads. Continually discussing correct behaviour when riding is important for all students and their families. To help your child become a safe, respectful bike rider, let them have lots of practice. Please remind your child to always wear their bike helmet, ride respecting pedestrians if they are riding on footpath, walk their bike across the school crossings and to walk their bike in our school grounds.

School Photos 2021 – Carnegie Primary School

Annual school photos including sibling photos will be taken at Carnegie Primary School by Arthur Reed Photos on Wednesday 17th March, 2021.

There is no need to return any forms or money to school.

Unique image codes will be issued to all students on/after photo day so families can register online to view images when they become available in the webshop.

Registration is simple, just follow the 3 simple steps on your child’s personalised flyer once you receive it and remember to add the codes for all your children attending this school.

Even if you registered last year, it’s important that you do again this year using your child’s 2021 image code to link their images for the current year with your contact details.

When images are ready to view and in the webshop, all parents who have registered will be notified by SMS and email.

Once registered, please wait for notification that 2021 images are online to view before making your purchase.

See 'Photo Information' page in this newsletter for further information.
