CUST

On Tuesday, all staff participated in a Community Understanding and Safety Training initiative called CUST.

Creating culturally safe and inclusive learning environments is everyone’s business, but of course, teachers require a strong foundation of skills, knowledge, and a lot of support in order to deliver Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within their classroom curriculum.

This is why VAEAI, in partnership with the Department of Education and Training, has prioritised providing professional learning through the Community Understanding and Safety Training initiative (otherwise known as CUST), to all school-based staff, from teachers, to administration and grounds staff in every government school throughout the state.

CUST is designed to be an introduction to ongoing learning and engagement with Aboriginal perspectives throughout the curriculum through meaningful collaboration between local Aboriginal communities and schools.

School Leaders

You couldn't take the smiles off the Year 6 students' faces, with their new bomber jackets and navy polo tops finally arriving last week. We have tried something different this year with the navy blue polo top being introduced to easily identify all of our Year 6 Leaders.

They certainly look smart and the students are wearing them with pride.

Foundation 2022 and Sibling Enrolments

This week we began our tours for potential Foundation 2022 students. Please share with your contacts that our tours are held each Tuesday at 9:30am. Parents can book a tour through our website or call the office on

Further, to support us in our 2022 planning we are inviting our current families with younger siblings to submit their enrolments. Please collect or request a form from our Office Team.

Have a wonderful long weekend with family and friends
