School Leaders

This week from our School Leaders:

School Captains:

Sari

Hello my name is Sari and I am a 2021 School Captain. I am in Year 6 and have been at Monty PS for 4 years. The role of School Captain is very important to me because I would like to contribute to this school as much as possible and to introduce some new ideas. I would also like to leave this school knowing that I helped it in some way. Whilst I was doing the application process I learned how to have good public speaking skills and how to be organised and independent. Some of the things I am very passionate about are sports, such as dance. I compete in the state and national competitions for dance and I also really enjoy running, maths and drama. In this role I would like to achieve some things such as welcoming new people to our school, helping kids in the school yard and bringing new ideas to improve our school. Please let your children know to come up to me for anything they need. Thanks,  Sari

Kabir

Hello, my name is Kabir and I am a School Captain for 2021.  Firstly, I would like to thank our Principal Mrs Worsam and Assistant Principal Mrs Rentos, teachers and the students who voted for me to represent our school.  Hopefully I will not put you all to sleep when I give my speeches! Secondly, I would like to say well done to everyone who had prepared a presentation for the student leadership roles and whatever the outcome you are all super brave, for trying. I am proud to be a student at Monty Primary and I am looking forward to being your Captain. I promise to work hard and support all the teachers and students.  Thank you.

Vice Captains:

Rory

This role is important to me because I like to help people and I’m looking forward to assisting the students at Monty in any way I can. I am really passionate about helping other kids with any problems that they might have in the playground or answering questions about work. I also like to make people laugh if they are feeling down and I try to understand how they are feeling so I can help people to feel happy. I'll make people laugh, even if I have to use a 'Dad Joke'. Outside of school, I like to play footy, basketball and video games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I think I’m a thoughtful and considerate person with a happy nature who always wants to help. What I hope to achieve as School Vice Captain is to help progress Monty Primary to be the best school it can be. With the other school captains, Kabir, Sari and Harper, I believe we can achieve this goal together as a team.

Harper

Hi I’m Harper and I have been elected as a 2021 leader of Montmorency Primary School. In my role as school vice captain I hope to raise enough money for the school to be able to get a vet in so kids can learn about different animals and how to care for them. This role is important to me because I will be able to help others and learn what I am capable of. The application process taught me that I am actually more confident than what I thought I was. At school I am most passionate about learning and supporting others. Outside of school I am passionate about animals and this is why I take horse riding classes in Viewbank. I also play representative basketball for the Diamond Valley Eagles. When I grow up I want to be a vet because I love working with animals. I enjoy feeling that I helped make a difference in an animals or humans life.
