School Swimming Results

Congratulations to all of our students who turned up and participated in the annual school Swimming Carnival. Students who have qualified for the Diocesan Carnival received notes last Friday. In order to qualify students, have to come in the first 3 places overall and meet qualifying times set down by the Diocesan Sports Committee. House points were as follows:

Pauls – 372

Students who have qualified for the Diocesan Carnival have received notes. The Diocesan swimming Carnival will be held on Friday 26 February in Tamworth. Notes and money were due back to school today. 

 

Diocesan Swimming Carnival

The Diocesan Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday, 26 February in Tamworth. The carnival will be held at the South and West Tamworth War Memorial Pool (Scully) located on Kent Street. One Parent per competitor is now permitted to attend  the carnival, but spectators will have a separate seated area. Mrs Dal Santo and Miss Starkie will be accompanying the children and meet them inside the pool area. Pool entry for children is $3.50. This should be paid on entering the pool and not to the school. Warm-up time will be from 8:00am-8:15am. The carnival will begin at 8:30am. The day will conclude at approximately 3:00pm. There is a timekeepers meeting at 8:00am. Students should bring a hat, water, sunscreen, swimming gear and a healthy lunch. A canteen will be operating on the day. Students should be in full school sports uniform – no Diocesan clothing is to be worn. 

 

Year 3-6 Sport

Over the next 6 weeks, students from Year 3-6 will start class rotations through a variety of activities for sport. As part of the rotation each week, one class will be going Ten Pin Bowling and another will be heading to the Indoor Centre or King Fit while the other 6 classes will stay at school and participate in basketball, touch, indoor soccer, cricket or tee ball. This week, 26 February, 5/6S will go to the Indoor Centre ($4.00), 3/4M Ten Pin Bowling ($8.00) and 3/4B will go to King Fit ($3.50). Next week, 5 March, 5/6A will go to the Indoor Centre ($4.00), 3/4G Ten Pin Bowling ($8.00) and 3/4D will go to King Fit ($3.50). If you have any concerns, please contact your child’s classroom teacher or Mrs Dal Santo.

School Sport

Sport will be swimming this week and then for the remainder of the term the secondary house competition will be on with students participating in a rotation of different activities and games each week. Students are reminded to bring a hat and water bottle.

Students who qualified to attend the Diocesan Swimming Trials in Gunnedah on 11 March will be notified this week.
