Living Well, Learning Well

At Holy Trinity School our “Living Well, Learning Well” document promotes and encourages our three Rules for Living: ‘I am Safe’, ‘I am Valued, Respected and Cared for’ and ‘I am a Learner’. We are explicitly teaching all children how to regulate their emotions and behaviours in our school, including in the classroom and on the playground. If your child makes a mistake at school they will complete a reflection sheet with a teacher or Assistant Principal and have time to reflect on their behaviour. Your child will be asked to think of an alternative way they could have behaved and how they can fix the problem. This reflection sheet will then be sent home to strengthen communication between home and school. We ask that you read through the reflection sheet with your child to help them explain what happened and how they can make a better choice next time. We would then like parents to  sign this reflection sheet and ask your child to return it to their teacher to acknowledge that you have had a brief conversation with your child about the incident.Through this process we are supporting your child to reflect on their behaviour at school with a teacher and at home with an adult.

Uniform and items from home

Students should be in full summer uniform or full sports uniform on Fridays. Bands on wrists are not permitted (unless for medical reasons) and long hair past shoulder length should be tied back at all times. Shoes should be black leather or vinyl for summer uniform and appropriate footwear for active movement on sports days. If your child can’t be in uniform for any reasons, please send in a note to your child’s class teacher. Any item, either clothing or other, brought in from home should be clearly labelled. Students should not be wearing nail polish to school.

Children Travelling Home from School

Some of the children of an afternoon are forgetting their travel plans home. To aid teachers and the office staff, could you please go through plans each morning with your child. If it does change from day-to-day a note to the classroom teacher or office would be of a great assistance.
