Girls' Boarding News

Quite a few girls went out last weekend but for those who stayed in the boarding house, there was plenty to do.

On Friday evening the girls had the stadium to themselves and enjoyed volleyball and dodgeball with Marsha. Some opted for a town trip the next morning and then chilled in the afternoon before a very busy evening when we joined forces with the boys to take part in a Kahoot Quiz at the Fred McKay Education Centre. Kahoot is a multiple choice quiz with extra points given for speed. Many thanks to William Phelps and Marea Moulton who pitched the questions perfectly and ensured the boarders had a lot of fun. Well done to Isabelle who won and Maddy who came third. Prizes included a movie voucher for themselves and a friend.

After Kahoot we watched the wonderful New Zealand movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople which everyone enjoyed, and the evening finished with party pies and sausage rolls for supper.

On Sunday boarders had the option to go on a bus tour which included the Megafauna Museum, the Sunday Markets, Kmart and a trip out to see all the aircrafts parked at Alice Spring's Airport. Everyone agreed it was a great trip.

In the afternoon it was time for a painting session in the art room with Sue Herbert and it really seemed to spur their enthusiasm and a number of them continued painting out on the grass till it was time to get ready for Chapel. Many thanks to Sue Herbert for giving up her afternoon to paint with the boarders.
