Year 3/4–Celebrating Learning

3/4 Mainstream

The 3/4 students attended Arrabri Lodge in Warburton on Wurundjeri land. Camp was a much anticipated and big deal for everyone. There were lots of nerves and lots of excitement. Students got the chance to participate in initiative activities, archery, bush dancing, mini golf, baking damper and low ropes. There were also opportunities for students to be brave and have a go at flying on the flying fox and drop from the giant swing

3 Steiner

The 3/4 annual camp was so exciting. The children of class 3 Steiner had never participated in a school camp before. We had so much fun going on a low ropes course, a giant swing, a flying fox and much much more. The children showed bravery and resilience and experienced wonderful moments. Many thanks go to Arrabri Lodge in Warburton on Wurundjeri land and the teachers who attended. We’re so happy that the children of 3/4 Thornbury Primary School had a wonderful camp experience.

Broken down, to be put back together. 4/5/6 Steiner JULY

As we learn about Greek Mythology together in 4/5/6 Steiner Main Lesson, we are creating Mosaics of Ancient Greek Patterns with a bit of artistic liberty from the children. Each week they have been immersed in the process of creating a mosaic work from broken tiles, including the fun of chipping them down to bitesize chunks. The students have enjoyed the process so far and we are soon to grout them and then send them home to be adorned among their many homes. Below are some comments from the students about the activity followed by some imagery of the mosaics created thus far.

Summer says: “The mosaics have been fun to create, but also a challenging puzzle.”
Ava says: “I have enjoyed the whole thing, but I wish we didn’t have to wear goggles when we chipped the tiles.”
Daisy says: “I had so much fun and I love all the pretty colours of tiles.”
Noah K says: “I think the mosaic activity is alright.”
