A message from Chris

Welcome to term three at Thornbury PS. This term I am very pleased to be the Acting Principal at this amazing school. I would like to thank everyone for being so welcoming and supportive in the first two weeks of term. I would also like to welcome new students and staff who have started with us this term.

On Monday 25th July staff participated in day two of Berry Street Education Model Professional Learning. The focus for Domain two was Relationships and the critical role relationships between students and staff ‘Relationships and strong relational interactions are integral to classroom practice with all students’.

Students from year 3/4 had a wonderful time at camp last week and year 5/6 students are looking forward to going on camp next week. A huge thank you to all of the school staff who have been involved with organising and attending the camps.

On Thursday we had an amazing day of Naidoc celebrations, with the them of Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! Thank you to everyone for the huge amount of work organising and running the day. You will be able to read more in this newsletter.

This term the school is undertaking the School Review Process, this happens every four years. A school reviewer and review team lead the school through the achievements of the previous School Strategic Plan and develops goals for the next four-year plan. This is a chance to celebrate everything the school has achieved whilst looking for further opportunities for improvement.
