Music

Kii from the Music Room!

The Prep - 2 classes have begun their Classroom Music sessions in style! We have been shaking our way through the Hippopotamus song (see below) and finding our singing voices. Students are settling into the music routine and I’m looking forward to showing you some more photos in our next Newsletter.

The Hippocampus Song
"Well the H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Took one look and tried to swallow us
The H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Sailed on the African Queen
She played in the tambourine.
She threw it up high and went weeeee!
Well the H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Took one look and tried to swallow us
The H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Sailed on the African Queen
She bounced like a jumping bean.
She threw up, it made me green.
Well the H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Took one look and tried to swallow us
The H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Sailed on the African Queen.
She rolled over poor Kathleen
When she drove in her mean machine.
Well the H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Took one look and tried to swallow us
The H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Sailed on the African Queen.
She spun it ‘round her arm like me.
She threw it up again and went weeeee!
Well the H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Took one look and tried to swallow us
The H.I.P.P.O. hippopotamus
Sailed on the African Queen."

During our NAIDOC day activities students created a soundscape to the Picture Book Willam (I can still hear Bunjil soar) and sung From Little Things, Big Things Grow.

Orchestra News

Class 3 has begun Orchestra this term and by all accounts it is “Fun!!!”

Don’t forget to bring your instrument to school on Fridays for orchestra. Thanks Caitlin for all your continued hard work and dedication.

The Majestic Mouthpieces

Charlie and Max have been steering The Majestic Mouthpieces (our wind ensemble) through their paces and they are sounding great! If you are interested in finding out more about woodwind or brass lessons, have a look at the T.I.M.E info on the TPS website or email Emma or Erica.
