What is the subject about?
Students will develop an understanding of the use of the sewing machine, fabric decoration, basic construction and basic pattern making skills. They will look at the stages of the design process, elements of textiles design and fibre properties to design, produce and evaluate textile products.
Skills you will develop
- Understand and apply the product design process.
- Use materials, tools and processes to assemble your own design.
- Apply learnt knowledge of different fabrics and fibres.
- Understand and use a pattern to create make your design come to life in fabric.
