ELECTIVE: Bakeshop

Year 10

What is the subject about?

 

In Year 10 Food Studies, Bakeshop, students investigate foods that are baked. Through production and theory work students will develop an understanding of the properties of baked goods including physical, sensory and chemical properties. Students develop skills and processes used in producing baked goods from first hand experience using tools and equipment used in producing baked goods. Students learn about ingredients and their sources used in baking and develop basic cake decorating skills.

  • Use equipment and techniques appropriately
  • Safe and hygienic food handling practices
