Book Week

Next week is Book Week. Our theme this year is Dreaming with eyes open. Our Book Week Parade will be on Friday August 26, at 9:00am. On Tuesday August 30 we have Perform Education visiting the school to bring books alive through singing and acting. 

 

During Book Week we have some lunchtime activities planned to celebrate books and reading, all students are welcome to join in the fun.

Book Week Parade

3/4 TR Assembly with a ‘Reading Focus’

HallAll Teachers - Students will come to The Book Parade with their classes. 

We will also have some exciting competitions running throughout Book Week. Children can bring their entries to Mrs Thredgold in the WIN Room or email them to her at cthredgold@olacheltenham.catholic.edu.au. Winners will be announced on Monday August 29.

OneCreate a Bookmark or poster advertising your favourite book, make sure you include why it is your favourite.
TwoWrite a blurb and draw a picture about a book you love.
ThreeWrite a letter to your favourite book character or Author.
FourWrite the next page or chapter of your favourite story
Five and Six 

Write your own story - it can be any genre you want.

Kingston Council Writing Competition 

Kingston Council is currently running a writing competition, with some great prizes up for grabs. Students can write a short stroy or poem up to 500 words long. 

 

The competition ends on September 18, 2022. Winners will be announced on October 21, 2022.

 

For those who are interested in entering there is a link to the entry form on the Kingston Website. 

 

Hard copies for the competition will also be available at the office.
