COHR Library - The BOOK FAIR was a success!

The BOOK FAIR has been and gone!

We hosted a Lamont Book Fair at our school in Week 2 & 3. This is a family and Australian run company that we worked with this year.

THANK YOU to all our students and families that supported our Book Fair. We are extremely pleased to share that you all contributed to a total spending of $2500 and this has resulted in our school receiving around $600 in commission. We have purchased some books from the Book Fair and will make some more free purchases from Lamont Books over the next few months as new releases come out.

Many thanks to Lorraine Hill & Nicole Russell with helping with the Book Fair selling of books on my non-working days. A team effort, resulting in some wonderful new literature for our library that our students will enjoy.

Book Week

"DREAMING WITH EYES OPEN" is the CBCA (Children's Book Council of Australia) theme for 2022.

5 more sleeps!!

Next Tuesday 9th August we come to school dressed as a book character to celebrate all thing BOOKS at COHR with our annual Book Parade. Students are invited to come to school dressed as a book character and encouraged to even bring the book along as well. Can't think of a book character, then what about this year's theme - "Dreaming With Eyes Open" - perhaps bedtime attire is a perfect fit? Who doesn't love snuggling up with a good book in your PJs? Don't forget to bring your book along!

Book character costumes that are homemade or accessorised with home dress-ups, help to make it a stress free option, there is no need to go out and buy a costume. Need ideas, please just ask.

We will start the day with a whole school parade and classes will participate in different book activities on that day and during the week. We will also have some bedtime stories to share, read by some of our teachers, that you can watch at home - we will send the links home each day next week.

Library Bags

Many thanks to families that checked to see if they had any of our spare library bags we loan out when students forget theirs, we've had a few returned, which is great!
