Principal's Message

From the Principal
Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I had the privilege of attending the three day camp with our Year 4 students. The camp was held in Marysville, a beautiful part of Victoria, 1 hour and 40 minutes from school. These experiences are priceless for our children and it is wonderful watching them enjoy themselves, support one another, grow in their independence and resilience and enjoy the great outdoors.
These children are to be commended on their behaviour over the course of the camp. They were a delight to take away. The camp staff were also very complimentary of our children, particularly noting their lovely manners.
FETE Update
Our next Fete meeting will be held on Tuesday evening, 9th August at 7pm. It will be held online and parents may join the meeting using the attached link;

Additional School Closure Day
MACS (Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools) has permitted schools to take and additional school closure day in Term 3 to meet the demands of professional learning expectations placed on schools. As a result we will be having another school closure on Monday 5th September. We acknowledge that this may place a further disruption to families but we do ask for your support and understanding.
Book Week Dress-Up Day
Don't forget our dress-up day next Tuesday 9th August. Please refer to the 'Library News' page of this newsletter for further information.
Parent Teacher Chats
Thank you to those parents who took up the opportunity to speak with classroom teachers at the Parent/Teacher Chats. If you were unable to make a time and would still like to speak with your child's teacher then we would certainly be happy to make a mutually convenient time. Parents of students in 5/6S will be contacted shortly regarding the rescheduling of your Parent Teacher Chats.
Confirmation
Our Year 6 Confirmation candidates are currently working through the Confirmation Program to further develop their understanding of the significance of this Sacrament. This Sacrament will be celebrated on Sunday 14th August at 1pm and again at 3pm.
Bishop Tony Ireland will be visiting the candidates next Friday 12th at school as part of their preparations.
Take care and keep safe everyone
Brendan Welsford
