Reading and Viewing Focus: Students will listen to, read, view and interpret spoken, written and multimodal texts. They willstudy the use of dramatic conventions, characters, dialogue in the text, Honey Spot. They will develop their own short scenes through the exploration of the art of playwriting. Writing Focus: Formative writing tasks will involve developing students’ skills in mind mapping, essay planning, editing for coherency and vocabulary enhancement. They will be completing a range of text responses and a play analysis. Speaking and Listening Focus: Students will create performances based on scenes from the text studied as well as complete oral evaluations of media texts and how they are influenced by context, purpose and audience. | |

Topic: Ancient Greece – a depth study on the changes in society and perspectives of key groups affected by change. The study of significant beliefs, values and practices of the Ancient Greek society with an emphasis on changes to everyday life and comparisons between everyday life for men, women and children in the Ancient Greek city-states. Topic: Economics and Business – students will understand the process of economic and decision-making at the personal, local and national level. Students will learn the behaviours of participants in the economy, business, society and the environment. Students will complete a business case study and a research project on a group of community members to understand and evaluate their choices for specific retail areas.

Focus: In Term 3 students will practice, apply and transfer movement concepts and strategies when participating in physical activities. They will also be given feedback to improve body control and coordination when performing specialised movement skills in various sports.
| Focus: Students are drawing using the elements of design: line, shape, texture, tone. They research the life and art of Albrecht Durer which inspires their artwork. Students examine the possibilities of digital drawing, through researching the work of David Hockney, then using the elements of line, shape, tone and texture using a program sketchable. They investigate drawing the human face and body in proportion using charcoal. |

Focus: Bible study on the life of Daniel and looking at desirable Christian character traits. The Lifeskills program involves two parts, the first to facilitate social and emotional learning opportunities for students. It aims to maximise positive connections with our students and to equip them with understanding and skills to navigate life and relationships. We will also cover skills and processes enabling students to: Respond resiliently to challenges Acknowledge their skills and achievements Identify people who support them Reflect on how they view achievements, success and failure Take responsibility for their own wellbeing. The students will also undertake a Digital Licence course. The eSmart Digital Licence+ offers an exciting, gamified learning experience for students to explore an interactive story-world. The students are engaged with learning materials, relatable scenarios and guided reflections of their own experiences with technology, so they build digital intelligence. By completing each milestone, students earn the badges they need to receive their Digital Licence+. | Focus: This Term, students have chosen the topic, ‘Something new in my life’. They will be learning how to thank the Lord for His provisions, in Hindi and will be exploring how to talk/ write about an exciting current event in their lives. Students will work collaboratively and independently, exploring different modes and genres of communication with reference to their current social, cultural and communicative interests. They will compose and present more complex and varied texts and plan, draft and present imaginative and informative texts based on the topic. Students will expand their range of vocabulary beyond their personal experience and interests, applying phonic and grammatical knowledge to spell and write unfamiliar words. Hindi will increasingly be used is used for classroom interactions and for creating and maintaining classroom relationships. |
L.O.T.E - French | Digital Technologies |
Focus: In Term 3 students will learn language to support conversations about families. Using ‘Ça, c'est ma famille’ students talk about their families, ages within their families, and expressions of possession. They will discuss types of family in France, French family documents and the origins of French names. Students will also share likes and dislikes in French. | We are looking at the Design process to create an inclusive playground for students. Students will develop skills in computer aided design using Tinkercad. Along the way they will have the opportunity to turn their 2D design into a 3D model using our 3D Printer. |
Food Technology | Homework Expectations |
Focus: We are learning about kitchen safety and hygiene, healthy eating and learning to follow recipes to create some healthy and tasty meals. We are working towards creating our own variation of a recipe through the creation of design briefs directed towards a target clientele. | Homework is sent out by individual teachers regularly. Students are to write their homework in their diaries and are expected to have it completed in the time frame given. Also, checking TEAMS regularly is important as assignments are often uploaded there |
