Assistant Principal Report -Senior School

By James Cumming

Welcome back to all senior students for Term Three. All year levels have begun the term well, with a range of coursework and assessments due. When visiting senior classes it has been pleasing to see the positive approach students have shown towards their studies.

The Year 12 cohort is currently preparing for the General Achievement Test (GAT), which will take place on Wednesday 7th of September. Staff have delivered a series of preparation workshops during VCE Program focusing on the literacy and numeracy components of the test. This year will be the first year VCAL students are required to sit the GAT.

During weeks 1 to 3, the Year 10 and 11s completed the course counselling process. Students were required to select their VCE subjects in line with their future pathways. The students were well prepared for their interviews, often providing a comprehensive knowledge of the requirements for their future pathways. I would like to thank both the staff and students involved, their approach to course counselling allowed for it to run smoothly and accurately.

Lastly, I would like to thank all staff and students for their support while I was Acting Assistant Principal. I wish all students the best of luck with their studies for the remainder of Term Three.
