THE CRUCIBLE EXCURSION

Last term our Year 12 students embarked on an enriching journey to see the Australian Shakespeare Company’s 'The Crucible.' The gripping professional performance proved to be immensely beneficial for students’ studies as they begin Unit 4 English. As they delved into the world of Salem witch trials, students gained a deeper understanding of themes like hysteria, conformity and the power of truth. Studying the text now, it is clear that students benefited from seeing the play being performed live in front of them – as intended by playwright Arthur Miller.
